When is WAR being released and where

First Quarter of 2008 is the current targeted release date. The game was pushed back from a Fourth Quarter of 2007 release to give the developers the opportunity to use the new ressources they have access to since they were acquired by EA and make the best game possible. WAR will launch in Americas and Europe simultaneously. GOA will be providing the European support and infrastructures for WAR. EA Mythic is also bringing the game to Asian territories, however there is no set date at this time.



What languages are being targetted at launch?


At launch, WAR will support English, French, German, Spanish and Italian; and possibly Asian languages but we have not yet heard which.



Will WAR be available via Digital Distribution?


Nothing is confirmed at this time but it is likely WAR will be available for purchase and download online at the same time it is released in stores. Electronic Arts already has a Digital Distribution network and Mythic has a history of making their expansions available via download.



Will patches be released simultaneously in Americas and Europe?


Yes. EA Mythic has committed to releasing patches in both territories at the same time.



When is Beta starting?


Non-employee Beta is scheduled to start around Mid to Late 2007.

No, you will not be able to transfer your Beta character over to the live servers at launch. Pre-orders getting a head start on live servers is a possibility, but not confirmed at this time.

I dunno but I have a question on my mind about the beta players is it randomly every day that players are accepted or is it limited to the 20 they have just recently announced in the newsletter. dunno how exactly they are making this work.






Edit: nvm kinda answered myself. I'm guess you have to VERY lucky to be into the beta seeing as they are only letting in 20 people per month and seeing as the count is so low theres probably a high population already. :( I guess i'll have to stalk those conventions haha.

War Server Update Today-Updated

Tomorrow morning all servers will be brought down for an update at around 8am CET. We expect that this patch operation will take until the end of the morning to complete.



Amongst the changes are the following two items:


Pets and their ability bars will no longer disappear from a player's screen at random intervals.


We have fixed an issue in which players were sometimes able to avoid the instance lock-out timers for certain 6-man instances.






We will keep you informed on the progress of these fixes.

Warhammer Lag Issues?

I know my computer is not the best. I figured it would run this game pretty smoothly but I get hella lag in the city areas and out in the PvE areas. Even my friend on his top of the line computer is having issues. Anyone else having lag problems?


Well it seems I am not the only one with problems. Looks like mythic doesnt like players with a 8800 Geforce card. If anyone is having troble with lag, I will stress that this is an issue alot of players are having so hopefully it will be resloved.


The lag has seemed to diminish a lot in the last day or so (although there was no que today so maybe it was just less players to bog down the server). For reference I'm on a laptop with Core One Duo 2.0, 2GB Ram, Geforce 7900 Go at meduim graphics settings.



Playing in windowed mode did solve a bunch of the issue (try it for those of you that haven't) except the other night I accidently X'd out of the game and had to wait in the 30 minute que again..


My lag is pretty horrible. I think the biggest problem is all the texturing and detail. it seems as though my computer has to wait for everything graphic wise to load then it will pretty smooth untill i enter a new area. it also doesnt help that my graphics card is missing a cable to regulate the power coughINDRID!cough


I found the link on warhammer alliance. This explains my issues perfectly. I would strongly advise that if anyone is having issues to post their problem.

Yes lag is a major issue. I would say the RvR can get a bit out of hand as far as lag is concerned. When my morale abilities do not fire and I get the message %26quot;Ability is not yet ready%26quot; and consequently I die I get a little angry. I have to say I have complete faith in mythic in their ability to fix every issue that comes up to the best of their ability and in a timely fashion. Lets hope my faith is proven.


I am glad to be able to finally say this but I truly think Mythic is keeping with the pulse of the community and trying their best to make this a great game. I hope they have some nice juicy upgrades coming our way. Also I think it's awesome that they do this NOT during night time hours as that is when I usually play! Way to go Mythic!

So guys, I turned 25 earlier today and for the first time I started having some doubts about the choice of my Career Tactics, and partly my mastery points. However, I'm really enjoying my class atm and haven't really felt anything like I lack alot or get beaten up, I still feel like I can improve some stuff



Currently I'm fully specced into Path of Inquisition, up to level 8, and having bought all 3 abilities. The first one being Full Confession, a Career Tactic I've used a few times but have already removed, so in the future it seems I won't spec that one anymore. The Seal of Destruction buff is very nice, I tend to use it every time it's up. Then at 7 spec there's another Career Tactic, one I haven't really used alot yet... Do those 3 seconds really make the difference? I do use Fervor and Burn Heretic! alot, but I have my doubts if it's worth a Career Tactic slot.



Currently I'm running with:


- Jagged Edge: Nice DoT, tho it fully depends on wether you crit or not, so I'm not sure if I'll keep it


- Brute Force: +100 strength, love this one... don't think I'll replace it in the near future!


Which Career Tactics do you guys use then? Flanking appeals to me as well, will test it.



So after this brief check of all of this, I'm even considering to respec and start spreading my points, not just in the DoT spec line. The Path of Judgement (Torment spam, anyone? ) seems nice too. Also, what kind of buff do you usualy run with? I stick with Blessed Bullets of Cleansing most of the time, otherwise I run out of action points even faster when spamming my styles...

Hey there i am also playing a WH , they are alot of fun , but not like any class i have played before , I can drop most things fairly fast , but my armor is papier mache ,






I love the from stealth curse that damages them every time they move xD it could be a tank 2 levels higher but if he jumps around me like a wow noob he will get owned with that xD



Now , down to buisness , Inquisition deos look like a nice line and so deos Judgement , but atm i am level 23 and gone full COnfession , the 7 sec 100% disrupt is nice and i plan to go Clicky






If you look at the tatics , i am still unsure , i am waiting to find out if the heal from the Bullets of Purity tatic applys to executions cause if it deos i will be healing myself like no mans buisness , if it deos not apply i will stick in the dot one when i crit .



Some times i get frustrated when i get insta dropped cause of our crappy armor , bu tthen i go out to a skirmish , and drop a player 5 levels higher then me cause he tried to kite when i did sudden accusation , and showed his back to me while i used the ignore armor back style xD ,


and the fact we can stealth , and i just love it even more






NOt to mention once you get the tier 3 Chest with the big shoulder pads and the hat you look freaking awesome !


I've gone split confession and inquisition though I'm only lvl 20 atm.



I'm also running Jagged Edge and Brute Force in tactics. I'm very happy with Jagged Edge as even a 40 dmg crit bullet will trigger it. I'd like to throw in the full confession tactic on top as it would make confess so much better combined with jagged edge.


Gone full judgment at lvl 23. Torment spam is pretty good since a lot of the time you are behind your opponent anyway. Torment plus sudden Accusation and anyone who runs is dead. I see Judgment as very much a max damage, minimum protection caster killer and it does the job very well. All the major caster killer abilities are in this line.



I use Brute Force and Flowing Accusations, really makes for some serious burst damage.

Ofc when target is on me, I use detaunt on him and instants as much as you can.Use the interupting focus spell.

Not played my AM for a bit and only got him to lvl 8 or so but I'm pretty sure that casting from the opposite aspect of magic doesnt build a charge, it just cancels it doesnt it?



So if you have 2 tranq as in ur example and cast force then it resets and you cast a powerful force?



But yeah switching back and forth is a nice challenge and a clever mechanic of rAMs, they can do some sweet healing but only if they maintain the DPS

warhammer Online Forced into healing?

Heck, I'm waiting to get ingame but am already thinking about what to possibly play...


It seems that the Bright Wizard is without any doubt the most popular damage dealing Order caster. But I was wondering if the archmage can keep up a bit with it too? Or is it too depending on healing? Is the damage decent when specced properly? I don't want to be playing a class and being refused in most groups cause I'm not healing...


The Archmage operates on a ying/yang force system, the more you heal, the greater the damage you do once you stop healing, the more damage you do, the faster your heals go once you stop damaging. If an Archmage is spam healing and doing no DPS, they are only being played to about 60-70% of their potential.



An archmage cannot really put out the same punch as a BW, but they can do some good damag


The thing is that if you make a healer class you will mostly be grouped in order to heal. As tallen said ofc you can do some dps but your primary objective will be to heal. The only 2 healing classes that need to do much dps in order to heal are the disciple of khain and the warrior priest so you might have a look there als


You have to heal as a healer but the mechanics dictate that you get involved in the offensive combat too.



Running a scenario last night there was two shadow warriors, one swordmaster and three archmages and we made short work of everything cause we all knew how to play and worked together. Everyone had fun and we destroyed the destruction players consistantly.


I've tried a few classes in O/B and Archmage was the one that interested me most proir to the O/B going live. Tbh having only had 15 hours played as one I can see this being a class that takes a degree of skill to truly master and get the most from it. I've played countless senarios and done most of my leveling to 11 in senario play.



Generally in a senario my dps is usually slightly lower than my healing. Though this is partially dependant on how strong the destro opposition is. I've basically tried to stick to using insta dots for dps to build up high magic for healing. I've found it hard to truly max the 'ying yang' effect as sometimes the situation dictates that you either heal or dps. Another slightly annoying aspect is your morale ability heals only pop for a limited duration and sometimes nobody needs that insta heal..



On a side note either I havent got the hang of the targeting aspect fully, but I find it a pain when I change defensive target I sometimes lose my offensive one and vice versa.. this usually happens when I click a defensive target out of my group in senarios.



I do really enjoy the class tho and prefer it above SW and BW which I also tried. AM will def be my main for retail


kinda aside from the main topic but the biggest problem you have with BW is the easy factor in killing yourself, you get too trigger happy and you'll blow yourself up.



AM you can rest easy you dont have this mechanic, so your life expectancy is automatically larger, sure you might not push out the same kinda dps but you do zero dps when dead


Archmage is probably a good class for you if you want to mostly heal, but also dps when healing is under control.



You're always a much better healer than you are at dps.



Some players will indeed pester you to heal, screaming %26quot;HEAL FFS!%26quot;, %26quot;if you play a healing class then only heal!%26quot; or jumping up and down in front of you. Ignore those and heal everyone else.


Let them die: its so much fun to see them crack up. Besides, if theyve time to do that they clearly arent doing their job properly



Better yet the correct solution is not to group with idiots like that



Anyway, the real answer to the thread is that anyone choosing an archmage that isnt happy for healing to be a significant part of their role has chosen the wrong class. Its a hybrid, to be played well you cannot concentrate on just 1 aspect of its abilities.

1: Swordmaster - 2 hander, speccing damage

We have been doing pretty well actually, although we do lack ranged DPS. Currently learning to call targets (normally healers 1st) and gang-nuke them.



Can warbands join a scenario queue, or does it have to be parties only?


I like this setup retty much... Engineer seems nice, for aoe root around your healers, no?



3 guns in the front to assist on the same target, sounds very nice too


just a hint, you know there's an assist button right? You only have to update it every time you enter the scenario, as everyone gets mixed up every time you join.


that's at least how my group does it

I've been playing on my Shadow Warrior alt and some of the tricks they can do are fecking sweet. We have a dedicated Shad Warr incoming to our guild in 2 weeks time, he just needs to buy a new PC first.

warhammer Online Who's gonna play Order?

I know there's a server FH ppl will play on, but as I recall they're playing destruction there.



Is there anyone who will be playing Order and on which server?


I think there is going to be a FH guild for both Order and Destro.


i will most likley have my main order... playing on the Karak-norn server atm


Destruction for me.



The good guys aren't appealing for me at all, which is odd.. 'cause I usually love playing the hero (always been Alliance on WoW and Good-aligned characters in any D%26amp;D based game).


I've played order so far and loved it.



Empire is an awesome zone, really enjoyed it, lots of creeping evil style stuff.



Elves is a bit confused but the more I play the more I enjoy the area. Dont think its as good as empire.



Dwarf zones ive only pvped in but they are brilliant fun.



Not played destro yet but gonna stay true to ordeer for launch...


I think the destro zones are better made in my short experience so far.. especially greenskins.


Order for definate for me, archmage or bright wizard cant decide which now.....

warhammer Warrior-priests can always heal?

Path of Wrath


The Path of Wrath is focused on crippling melee attacks which weaken, hinder, and


harass the player's opponents. Someone who specializes in Wrath will certainly be the


most offensively-focused type of Warrior Priest, as they will be both damaging their


enemies and weakening them with each swing of their warhammer.



So does this mean that a warrior priest that specifies in this will not be able to heal or will he just put his healing skills in his backpack to take them out only when they're really necessairy?


They will still be able to heal. This path is regarding Mastery's which are kinda like WoW talents.


The warrior priest has 3 %26quot;castable%26quot; heals - an insta heal-over time, a 1-2s direct heal with extra healing over time, and a 2-3s direct group heal.



The rest of his healing abilities are based on percentages of damage done, but these will usually only heal your %26quot;defensive target%26quot; (Whicever teammate you have selected - if nobody is selected it applies to yourself)


So technically the more damage you're doing, the more you're able to heal yourself or your teammate for.



The Mastery lines are kinda like a cross between DAoC spec lines, and WoW talents.


You put points into the Mastery line which increase the power of your base abilities - more damage, extra healing etc.


And as you raise your points in the Mastery line you have the option to buy whichever abilities you want from that line - Unlike WoW you don't need to have previous abilities to unlock the next one, you can pick and choose whichever, which means you can make the most of your mastery points.


You only get 25 Mastery points max, and there are a max of 15 points in each line - plus 6-7 abilities. So to fully max out 1 line with all abilities ya looking at using around 22 Points.


The 1-2 second heal with the hot you mentioned is 0.5 seconds cast time.


I am in love with this class. Rolled Destro in OB (Disciple) and had every intention of playing one when the game went live. Over popullation forced my friends and I to roll Order and tbh out of all the Order classes I tried...I didn't really like any of them very much. But I'd level'd a WP to 6 in OB so thought I'd try it again....tbh I really wasn't happy about playing Order. My WB is lvl 19 now....I can't see myself playing anything else. This class is so damn fun for me to play. My mate has rolled a Sword Master and we're a very strong duo. Him as my defensive and me with Guard is fantastic.



One thing I have found though. Pay very close attention to who or what you have as your defensive target. If you selected a quest item you've interacted with or an npc you talked to and you haven't switched back your defensive target to yourself or another player then all the heals you cast or gain from dmg will fall on the item or npc and you're screwed


A guildie has rerolled WP and we are finding that if he sticks to one defensive target, currently a defensive spec tank, they just cannot be shifted. A WP is a good choice for a team that likes to melee.

Witch Hunter Impressions

So, I played the WH through OB, currently lvl 15 and spent the last 2 days doing open RvR/keep battles (although at 15 dont think we really threatened the keep).



PvE



WH is good for this. They have high damage and can burn through mobs fast making them an excellent PvE class. They also gain Incognito at 10 which makes getting items/scouting areas safer and faster. A good PvE class.



PvP



Scenarios -



WH in scenarios is kinda limited. If you dont have incognito most people see you coming and know your soft and take you out asap. Tanks love you cos you go down fast and have to melee, ranged just looks for you to drop you asap.



It is possible to get nice kills through clever positioning and once you get in close most squishies dont have much of a chance if you can get your executions off and keep in range.



Incognito makes it even more fun as you can choose your engage point plus load some accusations as you start the fight outta stealth. Have had a few fun fights where I've ripped into the backline and gotten away but even more when I've misjudged it and died.



Open RvR



Kinda a mixed bag here.



Open field fighting is great fun. On your own its not easy and you have to be very careful, you cant just watlz in and attack, thats just a quick res trip but if you sit on the edges waiting you can pick off sorcs that stayed for one more cast and stuff as the zerg retreats/advances. Its also fun to hit the respawns as they tend to be off guard until they reach the fight.



Keeps is a bit different. In attack you can sneak intot he keep and past the keep lord, great for picking off ppl manning the guns or for just causing mayhem in the keep, however your part in taking the keep is DPS but only if you have the tanks to do it (and the healers).


In defence you can have a brilliant time. I like to sneak out the postern door, run down incognito to the seige weapons, trap them and pick off ppl trying to use the weapons as well as any ranged dps. On your own its hard to survive but if there is 2-3 WH then suddenly it becomes very nasty and ppl go down fast. I'm not sayin stealth packs like DAoC but it is nice when 2 of you are incognito, one attacks and the other drops on anyone coming in to support...



Overall



Fun class. Its NOT a WoW rogue, dont think it ever will be, which is good. Its a tricky class to play because most melee has more hp/armour than you, most ranged can root and run so you need to be patient and time things right. It is very satisfying though stalking a player thorugh the trees, or working up through the keep to take out the boiling oil or the seige gunner...



You also look awesome once you get the hat and cloak


I've had a ton of fun playing WH in the beta so far, really tore people up ( even tanks - dont try beating them down, use dot attacks because they stack and the dot execution ability ).



Vs incompetant groups and good detaunt timing I've taken down groups of players in scenarios albeit at tier 1 I don't expect that kind of poor play to exist for too long.



I think the timing on Incognito is both a blessing and a curse.


In so far as we cant just stealth and afk but I do think the recast timer should be lower ~10s-15 or so that way it forces us to be sneaky bastards if we want to get up close and personal.



Dont forget we have snares, -healing% and silence abilities - putting us on cloth ( healers especially ) in group vs group is probably going to be a WHs main role, along with some tab+snapshotcc.



I think it's more polished than wows' rogue in a lot of ways.


We have the equivalent of riposte in our confess ability from a very early level, as well as snapshot from level 1 vs the deadly throw of a rogue - it feels like our ranged weapon is an important part of our arsenal as opposed to an added afterthought and %26quot;fk how do we stop mages raping rogues quite so much?%26quot; move.


i love Witch Hunter im torn between one of those or the Bright Wiz for release.

Yes thats nice when you can use it, but a lot of the time our playstyle is picking off stragglers and guys running back to the zerg, in 1v1 its hard to get someones back if they are not dumb In a zerg you really dont want to be attacking a tank near the other melees as you'll get squished quicker than sharma at a parmo shop.


I'm liking my witch hunter. One of the less comical characters in the game (not overly fond of the 'humour' they have given the game).

Anyway, I'm enjoying my witch hunter, but he does get bludgeoned by other players (although they do get a surprise when I unleash my 5 accusations execution or sever a nerve (or whatever it is called) ).


lvl 10/11 WH in tier 1 its really, really powerful if played right.



You roll up behind the zerg, kill a healer or two and run away before they catch you. I basically levelled in the Scenario by leaving all groups and going for solo kills. My final scenario before I dinged i did over 20k damage and made 16k xp.



Really loving it atm, although in the tier 2 scenario its harder to get those solo kills.






Admittedly this is tier one and most of the Destro players were below 10 but still, its more pointing out how fast you can solo xp in the scenarios.


got lvl 10 and my incognito buff, and another level 10 ability that you can use whilst in incognito mode... (cant recall the name of the ability - at work at the mo!) - problem is it doesnt work. I got stealth(incognito thingy), and all abilities dissapear - i assume thats to show only the abilities you can use whilst in this mode, but the one you should be able to use dissapears aswell.



Its the ability that raises 2 accusation points, and i think it damages players that move for 15 seconds... or somet simular Anyone else get this??? Or am i getting it all wrong ?

warhammer Swordmaster vs White Lion

Can someone from Beta give information about Swordmasters compared to White lions?



I love rvr and want a solid rvr mele char. I've played both offensive and defensive tank in DAOC and can manage both but want a solid groupable rvr class.


The way i see it if you gonna make a melee group white lion is important. Mostly because of the 50% heal reduction + the help that can give the pet as interrupter on a caster. All those ofc if they improve the pet's pathing and solve all the bug issues.


I/m playing sword master at the mo and by a mile my fav class,as for white lion both are pretty different ,SM is mainly going to be a tank class and WL is a pure melee dps class plus you get the added bonus of useing your pet to interupt ect.. So if you wanna melee dps go WL but if you wanna tank go SM, sm can do decent dps aswell but later on id be amazed if they can keep up with most other class's.As i mentioned in another post playing melee dps in RvR at the mo is next to pointless you just cant hit anything even though your getting hit.

Actually i don't have any problem playing wl in rvr and yes i can hit my opponents. There are lots of bugs that i submit every day but those will be fixed with the release or later. My opinion is to try every class and choose what u like to play most. Ignore all the problems that the class might have because those problems sooner or later it will be fixed.


At low levels the melee characters suffer from not being able to close ground fast enough, but a good tank+healer combo will have no issues there and the while lion will get a leap skill from mastery later on that helps it immensely.



I think you have a choice, both will matter a lot in sieges and defensive situations, but do you want to absorb damage or deal it? That is the big difference.



Personally I was going to go White Lion but am having a blast on my Shadow Warrior at the moment, however I've noticed that when the WL gets in range, they really do make short work of anything that gets near them.


The sword master absorbs magical damage much better than an iron breaker, the iron breaker absorbs melee damage much better so theres a need for both.Im sure these issues with hitting mobs and other players in RvR will be fixed i certainly wont be giving up on my sword master as im loving the class.I will prob lvl up through the damage tree for the sword master and then at end game respecc tank,but a sword master can tank really well even with a two hander as his combo buffs increase parry ect.. the system works really well and taunt actuall gives you a dps increase so its used all the time weather you are tanking,questing or doing RvR.


I played a WH to 12 then decided to play a SM and OMG but the SM is insane.



Its a slow start until about lvl 6 and SM becomes a real monster at lvl 8 when you get ur RR gear.



Shields block spells and damage and my guy has 45% armour dmg mitigation, 40% parry (needs one skill use so its almost perma) and 40% block (melee and spell dmg). I also have a buff that gives 25% chance to aborb 100 dmg for 10 secs after hitting.



Dmg isnt great compared to wH (as you might expect) but I can sit and absorb a whole zergs attack and not get touched (which is insanely satisfying. SMs also get a nice root, plus some good Dots/ armour debuffs.



However, the most cool thing is that they can dual wield!! Oh yes!



True the second sword has stats like a shield but damn it looks so sweet. And when you get a few abilities and run through the stances fast it looks awesome.



So, maybe not gonna be killin everyone but Ive enjoyed SM much more than WH today, so much so I'm tempted to roll one come release instead of a WH...decisions decisions..

My thought exactly when i popped open the shadow grey.... grey is grey, not blue. tanned flesh is definitely not orange. Maybe if you overdo it on the selftanner, but its pretty silly the way colors are now.

Agreed. Crafting system is the weakest part of the game IMO. Overall I give the game a 9.0 which I think is fantastic considering it's an MMO less than 2 weeks old. I can tell you that WOW was a 7.0 in my book 2 weeks in. Give it a couple of years to be even more polished and I can see even more great things.

Sure Warhammer isnt completely solid, it has some graphical glitches and broken quests but no more or less then any other MMO.



WoW is solid, I would never play it again cause I am burnt out on it but if I said it wasn't a solid game for what it is I would be lying.

Warhammer Tag mythic shot themselves in the foot?

lots of new player reviews coming in. a lot of people that aren't from WoW are giving very bad reviews. At this point it doesn't matter who agrees or disagrees because there are quite a lot of people saying it.



Most, if not everyone, that has no love for WoW will probably leave at level 40 if they haven't already left.



To top it all off this is just a powergamer game. No one talks. No one groups. It's so boooooooooring.



So everyone left playing will have been from WoW because all the good reviews are coming from WoW gamers (they say so themselves). Once most of WoW goes back to it to play WotLK, will mythic be caught with its pants down?



They alienated the player base that could have been permanent and instead cater to blizzard's base which sees this as nothing more than a WoW expansion and will not remain.



I'm not being a troll here. I am putting a name on the obvious because this is what you do not do. Unfortunately no one worth anything will read this and next season we will probably see 5 more MMORPGs just like this one.


Until the servers go down, it isn't dead.


i was very excited for this game, i even played most of the beta, was very very happy with the game, until i hit 20.



at 20 you pretty much stop leveling from quests, and it's even hard to find quests that would even be around your level, it's not fun looking at every region for a new quest only to find it gives you no benefit from exp.



most of my guild was to 26 and stopped, due to the leveling, and decided to reroll a new character only to run into the same problem at about 20+ the only way i found to level effectively was to go kill things for a kill collector.. then turn in once you have killed 500+ mobs... very fun.



if mythic works on how leveling is done, i would gladly go back, but for now, it's a dead duck in the water for me, and no intentions of going back.


If only WoW gamers remain, and 90% of those WoW gamers get asked by their RL friends to go play WotLK, then yes, this game is effectively dead, since it has alienated the base of gamers that would have remained otherwise.

The problem lies in the fact that the only scenerio people queue for in Tier 3 is Tor Anroc.



Try playing Tor Anroc for Lvs22-32 and you'll feel like stabbing yourself in the eyes then pouring sulfur in the eyesockets.


since you brought that up, i'll touch on this as well, PQs and scenarios. scenarios for me are over 3 hours + wait for me, and PQs can't do them due to most poeple always kicking me out of their groups, why open up a open party for anyone to join then kick you is beyond me.



so that dulled me on trying to do PQs, now sceanrios... never got much benefit from that as well, due to Q times, so i sat out in the woods and grinded.. on mobs and just got fed up with it. so PQs on my server do me no benefit as well as scenarios, there's just not enough order.



now if you go so reroll order, they dont appeal to me, plus i don't think i should have to change what i want to be just to expierence the game that i want to, i love being the goblin shaman, was always my favorite. the game is lackluster to me, and it's sad, because i really really was looking forward to this game, only to be let down.

crazy, when your server pop says %26quot;low%26quot; on peak hours, its time to reroll. My server is med/high on peak and on off hours my que is never over 10 minutes.

The problem is, most people are more focused on leveling and usually, people never spoke in the actual questing areas of other MMOs, just in major cities...which, in WAR, are usually quiet, unfortunately.


Several areas in the same zone have their own chat channel, which alienates whoever else may be in the same zone but not the same area. Still, I have seen a lot more chat recently than I have before, and I have seen a ton more chat on an oceanic order server.


I keep forgetting to change the text color of my general chat to be different from the loot messages.


I narrarate what I'm doing.

I actually think that's part of the problem. Many of the players may not even KNOW how to chat in the area channels.. because it's not really explicitly stated HOW. From what I've seen, anyway. You can click the chat button thing to switch between Party/Say/Guild/etc, but it doesn't allow you to switch to any kind of global channel. *shrug* So many people may not know how.



But there's plenty of other reasons too.. For one, most players are focused on leveling at the moment. The game is still new and we're still in that %26quot;mad dash to the finish%26quot; phase. Once the endgame is more established, and there's more players in each tier, there should be more a bit more communication.



And of course there's the fact that Mythic made the area channels so damn small.. they desperately need to add global channels.


Most people in my server have anonymous turned on to avoid gold spam, and there's a lot of obvious farmers as well (people that simply farm, add to the AH and never respond to tells) I think public grouping and the other social options are much more commonly used than general chat. Plus this game is a lot simpler to the layman than WoW.


Some people don't know how to chat yet. Some people dont know to type /1 for general. Some people just got the game and are still figuring it out. The community hasn't developed yet. Give it a minute. And also it is possible this game will never have the social aspect of WoW. This game is about killing, not guild drama and lame general chat.

I'm losing respect--scratch that, already lost all respect for the Warcraft division of Blizzard. I'm still looking forward to Starcraft 2 and more importantly Diablo 3, but i'll never go back to WoW.

Actually, we have been discussing new battlegrounds quite a bit lately. Wrath of the Lich King will feature Strand of the Ancients (attack/defend) as well as Wintergrasp (non-instanced, world PvP).



But past that, we are exploring ideas that would involve expanding our Battleground content in future patches and beyond. We believe we have some strong ideas for improving Battlegrounds and PvP as a whole in the game and we're definitely going to focus on improvements in the future. Now, it's very early to be talking about some of this stuff but I think it's important for the community to know that it's on our minds.



Our general thought is that we could provide more BG content over time. The BG content that we could provide could be of higher quality with a higher degree of accessibility. Overall, we'd like to have more content and variety. We also want the gameplay experience in the BGs to be better directed. We're also exploring the concept of a complimentary %26quot;competitive%26quot; bg system as well. Over time, we'd like the focus of PvP to shift back to being more BG-centric and more focused on Horde versus Alliance -- the core of our game.



We're also planning on improving some Battleground and PvP features in general. For example, we want to give you the ability to queue for Battlegrounds from anywhere in the world. We're also going to explore EXP gain through the PvP system as well as low level itemization to support that.



Please don't take this post as a promise. This won't be an overnight process. Not all of these things are set in stone and guaranteed to happen. It would take us a while to shift in this direction. But these are some of the current thoughts on the development team. I think it's important for you guys to know some of our thought process in regards to PvP.



Looks like WAR is having a larger impact on WoW than people had orginally planned. Only thing is, they have arena and as a poster on the WoW forums posted:



There is none. Same reason Wintergrasp is going to fail. It's real simple: people follow the eq. Since arena = pvp gear, people will do arena for the gear. Then go to bgs to 1-shot people who hate arena (thus probably leading to them quitting).

That's what WoW and Warcraft are. A collection of stolen ideas. Thing is, they often implement those stolen ideas better than the game they stole them from.



Oh please, like Warhammer would exist were it not for J.R.R. Tolkien and Gary Gygax. Everything has been %26quot;stolen%26quot; from someone else since antiquity. It's just a matter of recreating and refining what's already been done. It's not like Warhammer isn't just a restyled Middle-Earth.


Warhammer wasnt directly based on LOTR. Warcraft came into existance because Blizzard failed to aquire the rights to make a Warhammer RTS, so instead they made Warcraft which was basically their version of warhammer. bad comparison is bad. i see what you are saying but youre still somewhat incorrect.


tl;dr warhammer may have been influenced by LOTR but Warcraft was a direct Warhammer clone. Not that it was a bad thing, i loved the old warcraft games, but the universe was a clone nonetheless.

y bueno en general eso, la verdad que estar%26iacute;a muy agradecida ( y de paso otr@s jugadores como yo podr%26aacute;n ver esto y decidir si comprarlo o no )


Saludos! En principio, devo recomendarte encarecidamente warhammer online. Llevo desde la beta jugandolo, y de verdad, sorprende y satisface enormemente.



Tengo solo nivel 17, por lo que quiza no sea mi consejo el que busques, pero las cosas por hacer son TANTAS que tengo que comentartelo. Ai infinidad de Quests MUY variados, muy divertidos, y nada agoviantes. Se suve de nivel correctamente, sin tardar demasiado ( de echo ai gente que tiene ya lvl 40...)


He entrado en varias instances ( las alcantarillas de Altdorf, donde es una gozada jugar en grupo, ya que requieren un alto nivel de trabajo en equipo y coordinaci%26oacute;n.)


tambien esta plagado de monstruos ocultos, cuevas escondidas, mazmorras a las que solo pdoras acceder en determinados momentos del dia, de monstruos que deves buscar para desbloquear objetos de personalizacion ocultos, y que estan en los lugres mas reconditos imaginables...


Otro punto fuerte del jeugo son los RvR, que hacen que la sensaci%26oacute;n de estar en un QUEST continuo sea muy fuerte. No puedes hablar con los enemigos, pero la lucha es constante contra el reino enemigo, defendiendo tus castillos, assaltando banderas enemigas, moviendote en grupos por escenarios bastissimos buscando otro grupo enemigo, o en batallas epicas, sin tener que canviar de escenario, en medio del mundo.


Los escenarios RvR tambien son de destacar: peque%26ntilde;as %26quot; misiones%26quot; ( de 30-40 personas) en las que jugadores de ambos reinos tienen que cumplir un objetivo de puntos matano al rival o capturandole banderas... MUY divertido.


Despues esta el tema de las capitales... que entre todo el reino colaboran a suvirlas d enivel haciendo Public Quests ( otro punto que no he comentado, las quests publicas son divertidissimas), o cosas en la ciudad...



No te aburriras del juego, te lo recomiendo: le da 2.400 patadas al wow, y no lo digo por ser fanboy de nada, Wow tuvo sus puntos buenos, ahora WAR lo supera. De lejos.

Yo dir%26iacute;a que el WaR est%26aacute; mas orientado al PvP, ya sea en Reino contra Reino o en escenarios, pero como te han contado en otra respuesta, tienes muuucho PvE por hacer, sin llegar a ser pesado.



Respecto a los problemas que comentas, yo tengo el keko a level 18 y todav%26iacute;a no he encontrado ning%26uacute;n bug que me haya causado frustraci%26oacute;n, la verdad es que no he encontrado ninguno.



Claro que juego en el Orden, por el momento eso evita los problemas de colas. Es lo %26uacute;nico que te recomendar%26iacute;a, que te hagas el keko en el Orden o si lo quieres Caos, en el servidor Bilbali.

Pues yo estaba en la misma situaci%26oacute;n que t%26uacute; y te recomiendo que pruebes el WAR. No me encuentro en situaci%26oacute;n de comprar ambos juegos, ya que solo tengo nivel 12 y en el wow pude raidear bastante, aparte que no me parece justo comparar un juego que lleva un par de semanas, con uno que llevas a%26ntilde;os puli%26eacute;ndose.



Mi opini%26oacute;n es que el juego es entretenid%26iacute;simo, tiene algunas cosas que pueden tirar para atr%26aacute;s a los mas puristas o exigentes, pero para mi desde luego merece la pena probarlo.


El Pvp, en mi opini%26oacute;n, le da 100 patadas a super repetitivo Pvp del Wow, aparte que aqu%26iacute; me arriesgar%26iacute;a a decir que hay mas variedad en las clases a elegir.



La duda que tengo, es si el %26quot;High End%26quot; del WAR estar%26aacute; a la altura de el del Wow....auqnue como a%26uacute;n me queda mucho camino, no es algo que me quite el sue%26ntilde;o

Poco a poco va mejorando solo hay que ver los bugs que se van corrigiendo y hoy que ha salido la traduccion total para las voces en castellano. Deep Wounds + Titans Grip + 1H OH = Profit?

Offhand crits give you an additional deep wound 'roll' of your main hand damage range (probably an unintended legacy feature from the old, useless deep wounds).


This can as much as double the effect of deep wounds if you are using the slowest possible MH and the fastest possible OH (normalization might have some cut offs - daggers probably aren't worth it), I haven't done any tests outside self buffs yet, but this seems powerful enough to boost dps by a very significant amount.






Additionally, Whirlwind offhand crits do not proc deep wounds currently, this bug can result in a pretty sizeable damage loss, especially in multitarget enviroments.

Testing on Dummies will give you different results when it comes to raid buffs, deep wounds damage receives more buffs in a raid enviroment compared to offhand damage.



Deep wounds was changed with the new build, it now behaves differently when you apply a new 'stack' of it by critting, I can't seem to replicate my old numbers quite so easily with the changed mechanics, making it feel slightly more balanced (have seen 2.3k ticks self buffed on dummies in the previous build).


Unfortunately offhand WW crits still won't proc deep wounds.

Right now I don't see a reason to use Berserker Stance ever when tanking as a prot warrior. Doubtful I'd need mobility beyond a charge every 15 (12 with glyph) seconds, and intervene whenever needed. The only reason I ever did, was to throw on Berserker Rage for a rage boost when I'm starved, and very rarely to execute spam some boss.



No more stance dancing as a tank? This is good.


Yes, let's simplify the game some more. This expansion is completely on the right track so far.


Now they just need to add Pummel to Battle Stance to, and Warrior's might not anymore be the only class in the game who always take 10% more damage from everything.


Think adding Pummel to Battle Stance is crap. You would basicly even further overpower Arms Warriors in PvP. I don't think anybody is waiting for it. It would also put the already supressed Fury Warrior in less need as you are basicly taking everything from Fury/Berserker Stance Warriors this way.


This is not good, it's absolutely boring.


Stancedance was something special for a real tank, i remember bosses like Magmadar, Onyxia, Nefarian, Nightbane (only the early version), etc. they were really great because you had to react very fast to break the fear.



Yeah, it's extremely nice for pvp but pvp is not everything, i wouldn't care if they put it back in bersi-stance.

Test it again with a slow two hander, maybe there's a hidden cooldown (which would suck but explain the low procrate).


don't know if a bug, but BcB if pretty poor addition still to our dps, for 3 points it seems like about 1% to our total damage/dps, which is poor, possible 2 if you duel wield, same with necrosis though that is 3%ish. I think it should just be made a 1 pointer and necrosis 3 pointer.



These style of talent would probably work better for blood talents as they are the more physical hitting spec, where as unholy is only about 1/3 physical and the rest spell like damage. They just dont fit the way unholy does the major part of its damage.

Swoard + board makes prot DPS/TPS too random

I think prot DPS with a shield is an exciting new warhammer gold addition to WoW, but it has some issues at the moment. Before devastate was nerfed back to 50%, prot was perhaps doing a bit too much DPS. But I think they overdid it, because now we are either back to square one (dual-wielding and spamming same old devastate for very consistent mediocre DPS) or relying too much on procs (using a shield and hoping for sword and board procs).



Sword and board has sort of taken over the prot warrior whenever you're wearing a shield. You have to spam devastates because you have to get your swoard and board procs, which constitutes your major DPS boost when DPSing/grinding or your major TPS boost when tanking.


Problem is, sword and board procs are random. If you don't get procs, your TPS suffers. If you don't get procs, your DPS suffers even more. This seems to run counter to the design philosophy behind many changes that have been made to reduce random, for example changing procs to consistent bonuses on a number of talents.



Swoard and board procs being so powerful also has the unfortunate side effect of making revenge obsolete for prot warriors. Why use revenge, when you can use devastate and hopefully get a whopping shield slam off cooldown and even free warhammer gold?



I feel like the elements for some really nice prot abilities are there, the random factor of swoard and board just has to be balanced out somehow. One way could be to make the proc a little less powerful, but in turn buff up devastate and revenge. Then you would have a reason to push each of the three buttons, instead of being herded toward shield slam all the time.


Incidentally, the improved revenge talent still seems quite poor for tanking. Maybe that talent could be reworked in this context?


I do agree that Revenge getting left out and Devastate being forcefully spammable are bad things, but I think the ability cycles of all classes could use a bit of randomness. Another word for that is %26quot;Interactivity%26quot;, so that players don't blindly spam the same rotation over and over and over again. That's what a lot of players have been complaining about through the ages that %26quot;all they do in a raid is push 1 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 1 2 2 2 2%26quot; etc.



They said on the US boards that after the Devastate nerf they will compensate with either a Shield Slam buff or a Revenge buff. And I felt that most warriors wanted a buff for Shield Slam, but I can't say I agree. I like Revenge a lot and don't want it to fall off the cycle.



So hopefully they realize that they need to buff Revenge enough to be worth using at least sometimes when it's up. It's also the safest skill to buff because we won't be doing overwhelming damage with it or spamming it constantly because it has a decent CD to begin with.



And random in mathematics and especially behind mathematics in WoW isn't random at all when you consider the results over a decent enough period of time. So I don't think it's a bad idea at all to rely on a lot of procs, it just has a negative side effect for PvP which needs to rely as little as possible on random numbers. PvE interestingness and PvP fairness are sort of against each other, one might say.


Revenge will most likely be merged into S%26amp;B and Shield Slam damage will be increased to cover last Devastate nerf.



In the end you will end up with exactly same rotation as now just without Shield Block spam as it have cooldown now.


As has been posted before, depending on procs is not random at all when you look from a futher point of view. Yes, it does matter in pvp, and when you try to kill an elite 2-3 levels above you solo. But in other cases, not really. Our tps would still be good enough without S%26amp;B, so you're not screwed if it doesnt proc at all in first 30 seconds after the pull. Yes, you do kill one mob in 10 seconds, and the next one can take you 40. But if you look at an hour of farming or one bossfight, your overall dps is way higher, and depending on procs does not matter at all.



Although, i would like the procrate on S%26amp;B to be reduced, even back to 10%, BUT to make it proc of all our damaging abilities (that is, excluding autoattack). Then, balance our threat value from abilities so it's conc blow-%26gt;shockwave-%26gt;ss-%26gt;revenge-%26gt;devastate, and voila - you've got a new, way more interesting tanking rotation, that is still hard to master and leaves a lot of space for judgement calls, since S%26amp;B can proc at any moment, with different abilities being on different cooldowns.



Though, i guess it would take quite a lot of time to introduce, test, and balance out, so i doubt it's possible to be done by the release date. Still, i think it would make most of the prot warriors happy, since it would give us a new, shiny toy to play with.

Yes, interactivity in skills is a good thing, but right now sword and board pushes us in the other direction - towards the mindless spamming of only two buttons, instead of swapping in other stuff like revenge.



Random is good in PvP, where a string of sword and board procs will be able to overwhelm the opponent by doing damage faster than it can possibly be healed. Slow and steady damage generation is for PvE, while in PvP it just gets constantly outhealed. That is the situation for prot warriors today in PvP - our devastate spam does decent damage, but it is not random enough. Though it is only a small element in what makes prot warriors useless for PvP (lack of mobility, utility and survivability, all of which are improved by WotLK changes btw)



Random is bad in PvE - both in raids, 5-mans and for grinding. If I pull a few mobs, I will essentially be rolling the dice. Either I get lucky and get a string of S %26amp; B procs, killing the mobs in no time and leaving me at nearly full health. Or I will be out of luck, getting few or no procs and either ending at low health after killing the mobs, or even be at risk of dying.


This random factor is, currently, too big. That is my honest opinion. Of course, there always needs to be some random element in things. That is what poses situations for us to adapt to and benefit (or fail to adapt and suffer), which is part of the fun and challenge. But the difference is too big here.



As for raids - tanking in particular - the random is particularly bad. Imagine if the tank would either do 1500 TPS or 500 TPS depending on the roll of the dice. That's how WotLK is shaping up for prot warriors. DPSers will have to wait a long time to see if we get procs so they can nuke, or if we get no procs and they can barely autoattack. This runs the risk of making the prot warrior a liability as MT, something I dont hope to see.



These are my two cent's worth of concern. I think some changes would be very helpful here, and have confidence in Blizzard to make the minor adjustments necessary to get us to the sweet spot.


I just came out of a 5-man (Gun'drak) having 1.2k DPS as tank through the whole instance. I'm sure that's alot more than 500 TPS. A prot warrior will pretty much never do only 500 TPS. Granted, I do use revenge as much as I can, because I have the glyph that makes my next Heroic Strike cost no rage,+ the glyph that makes my heroic strike crits generate 10 rage.



You should not really rely on S%26amp;B for your threat. It's a nice addition. It should not be what keeps you barely floating.


The number was hypothetical and was based on the current (live, 2.4.3 version) baseline TPS, which is 1000. As you level and gear up, DPS and TPS naturally increase. Also, crossing into an expansion also increases DPS and TPS by adding new spells and talents. Thus, baseline threat and DPS are vastly increased - but the point remains the same even if it's 5k vs 15k TPS instead.



I'm pretty sure all theorycraft would tell you to rely solely on S %26amp; B and drop revenge entirely. That is, if things remain as they are now, which I don't hope. Prot warriors do work, and quite well in most aspects, but I feel things could be improved a lot in this area.


Rely solely on S%26amp;B would probably be bettes yes. My point is that your threat will not be crap even if S %26amp; B doesn't proc, as long as you have the rage to keep spamming Devastate. For raids I really don't know %26acute;, since I haven't raided yet in wotlk. In 5-man instances I'm having a very easy time.


s I said GC already confirmed that Revenge will gain %26quot;huge damage buff%26quot; and be included into S%26amp;B. SS will gain base damage buff also to compensate recent Devastate nerf.



Now if we could only make macro that cast Revenge over Devastate in one button, but it is not possible sadly unless you have G15 keyboard :/ (no /castrandom is not good enough)


We were discussing this before GC had confirmed the changes - he had only said we would be compensated for the devastate nerf (and that it would probably be via either shield slam or revenge, but no specifics).



Now the specifics are here and they seem to solve most of the issues. I would still prefer sword and board to be tuned down a little and devastate hitting a little harder though. But lets see when it gets patched to warhammer gold us.


The only big issue I have left for prot is lack of rage for parry/dodge (and possibly miss). It was supposed to be baked into classes but nothing hap#@@*d still.

Adem%26aacute;s los desarrolladores tienen planes de a%26ntilde;adir algunas misiones adicionales al final para que la transici%26oacute;n a las Tierras de la Plaga no sea tan brusca. De hecho incluso habr%26aacute; una nueva versi%26oacute;n del Basti%26oacute;n de %26Eacute;bano, algo m%26aacute;s peque%26ntilde;o y m%26aacute;s f%26aacute;cil de navegar que el actual.



Si no hab%26eacute;is pasado mucho tiempo en Rasganorte, muchas de estas misiones son de este calibre, con mec%26aacute;nicas igualmente interesantes. Sin embargo, es dif%26iacute;cil comprimir tantas en una gran historia como es la de la zona inicial del Caballero de la Muerte. Lo mejor de todo, es que parte de las tramas que han empezado en Acherus, se extienden hasta Rasganorte.

Las voces que oyes no son del Rey Lich, son de Mograine ... fijate que siempre las oyes cuando estas cerca de el, y te va contando la historia de lo que le pas%26oacute; con su hijo ( el boss de Monasterio Scarlata)


El Mograine que lidera Acherus no es el padre del boss del monasterio, sino su hermano.


Alexandros Mograine (El Ashbringer) tiene 3 hijos conocidos:


Renault, que es el boss del monasterio, que traicion%26oacute; y mat%26oacute; a su padre con la Crematoria, permitiendo as%26iacute; que el Rey Lich lo corrompiera y lo transformara en el boss de Naxxramas, lider de los Caballeros.


Darion, que buscando a su padre acab%26oacute; cayendo en los brazos del Rey Lich, lidera a los Caballeros de la Mano de Ebano. Al ver las imagenes de cuando era joven prometiendole a su padre luchar, y al escuchar las palabras de Tirion se redime y le entrega la Crematoria a %26eacute;ste %26uacute;ltimo que la purifica en el evento de la %26uacute;ltima quest de la cadena de inicio.


Y luego un tercero que se supone que tiene el conocimiento para crear una nueva Crematoria, y que vive en Terrallende, pero nada m%26aacute;s se sabe de %26eacute;l.


Ummm las voces que se escuchan en Acherus creo que no son de mograine.... si no me ekivoco tengo entendido que provienene de la %26quot;Corrupted Ashbringer%26quot;. No he llegado a tener esta espada pero bueno, lei y escuche las frases que %26quot;supuestamente%26quot; te susurra cuando la llevas, (Ej %26quot;Matarlos a todos%26quot;) y son las mismas que escuche al estar al lado de Mograine.



De esto no estoy muy seguro asi que disculpar mi ignorancia si me ekivoco en algo XD

More intuitive attack stanc

Ok, one of the most frustrating things i've dealt with as a warrior in arena is the lack of a good way to keep in attack stance against an enemy that vanishes / gets away... especially rogues. After a vanish or whatnot you go back to the non-attacking stance and it's a pain in the ass to get back into it. Right clicking on someone is cumbersome, and if you have a key set to start autoattacks, it wont work, or if you accidentally hit it twice, you'll go right back to not attacking. I'd really like to see some or all of the following to make this more smooth:



-Separate keybinds for start / stop attack. That way you could mash your start attack button when you need to and now worry about reverting it. warhammer gold



-Let the command to start auto-attacking work while stunned / poly'd



-Have an option to automatically go into attack stance whenever you have an enemy targetted



-Have a talent that makes your next attack cost no after you are the victim of a stun / immobilize, that way we'd have an ability to spam to get back into attack stance, like a rogue's sin strike for instance



-Simply make a spammable ability that makes you auto-attack when you hit it, limited by your swing speed of course

That's a good workaround, but the game shouldn't require you to bind that macros to stay effective... Seems silly that this isn't default. Hell, it should be default that if you attempt to use an attack but don't have the rage, you start autoattacking anyway.


by effective you mean competitive, be it in PvP or PvE, then the game already requires you to use macros or addons.

While the entire set that DKs earn through their starting area looks awesome, it won't last through leveling stat-wise and we'll eventually replace it with something or other.

If you dont have a guild make one cost is silly and just find 9 noobs in Elwyn Forest pay them 1g to sign your guild charter and you have your own guild (whatever tabart you want) and guild bank for storing your stuff :) Easy.



But we will get that tabard before we leave the Scourge!



after we go Horde or Alliance we can use the tabard as an indication that we have defeated /mocked the enemy.



Scarlet tabard comes in mind.

Well, I have quite lots of concerns about current Fury state, however I would like to bring up the one about Unending Fury talent here. Of course, I'm talking about the version to be introduced soon:

So, in fact 5 points spent in Unending Fury talent give you about 3% net damage increase, i.e. 0.6% per point. There is no doubt that any of Precision, Cruelty and Deep Wounds give more than 1% per spent point while not requiring you to go that deep in the tree.

Simply buffing numbers is not good idea here as it could result in too much burst damage from BT/WW/Instant Slam combo which will affect PvP.


Back in times when the talent was introduced, it featured additional part, however it became useless as Enraged Assault was removed from game (was really disappointed that day).


Let's give some nice flavor addition to this talent! We're TG Fury warriors, having spiky rage generation, so, let's use that!



Solution Example


Increases damage of your Slam, Whirlwind and Bloodthirst abilities by 2/4/6/8/10%. In addition, whenever you get 100 Rage you become Overraged for 30 sec increasing all physical damage done by 1/2/3/4/5%.



Solution Analysis


Obviously this will make getting 100 Rage not something bad and give you interesting challenge to manage it. I bet that with that duration solution you will be able to maintain the buff almost 100% time. The change will push the talent effectiveness to around 1.5% per point and add some new flavor to Fury gameplay, which IMO matches Fury Warrior idea. Profit!

Regarding tank racials

Currently there are 5 racials that are relevant tanking; expertise for human, dwarf and orc, hit points for tauren and chance to be missed for night elf. The tauren racial has been a lot better than others for a long time and rightfully got nerfed to only give a certain amount of health depending on level (~450hp at level 80, I'm not sure if this number is still supposed to be increased to match 5% of a green geared character). However, at the same time the night elf racial got buffed and I think it is now over budget or, simply put, too good. What I mean with 'over budget' is the amount of ratings or stamina that it takes to make up the difference. A simple comparison: Dwarf, Orc: it takes ~41 expertise rating to get 5 expertise, however this is limited to one weapon type Human: it takes ~24.5 expertise rating to get 3 expertise, limited to two weapon types Tauren: it takes ~39 stamina (with BoK and Vitality) to get 450 HP, this equals 26 points in any of the ratings Night Elf: it takes ~78.5 dodge rating to get 2% dodge, which compares best to the racial Chance to be missed is actually very slightly better than dodge. On top of that, all the avoidance ratings are subject to diminishing returns now, making these 2% worth a lot more at higher avoidance levels. As it is now, NE would be the superior choice for tanking and it could even go as far as it did with tauren. NEs being the preferred as recruits, rerollers always going with NE, etc. A possible solution would be going back to 1% but adding something else instead that is more offensive and not as important for tanking. Or turn the racial into an amount of dodge rating that scales with level, something like 0.7x level. That way NE tanks would still be affected by diminishing returns on dodge rating. The value of this version would depend on itemization though. The fact is the NE racial 'skips' the whole avoidance normalization change that has been in since beta started. At peak this could amount to well over 100 rating for a racial, this is overpowered on a level similar to how Taurens were in TBC. A weapon specialization and 1% avoidance might be a nice compromise. The same is true for Shadowmeld, as was the case with The Fall of Humanity, this is simply too abusable for a tank. And what would that weapon specialization be? I'd say glaives, but there are quite few of those. Daggers? Nothing says weapon specialization has to be specific to each race, Dwarves and Humans both have Mace specialization. Bows would be good, or daggers, swords/2h swords would be very nice aswell. Though it doesn't have to revolve around tanking at all, it's just a suggestion to get away from another overpowered racial (Quickness). I think reducing it to 1% and adding something else is a good solution. Also might want to reduce the nature spell miss chance to 2% to be more in line with other races. (otherwise night elf would be THE tank race in case of a nature resist boss) I would suggest something that helps for either grinding or PvP, preferably the former. I'm thinking something along the lines of a HoT like what herbalists get. It would tie in well with the %26quot;nature-ness%26quot; of night elves, and would be fairly useless for tanking. Anyway, seems to me that blizzard have tried to make racials less %26quot;required%26quot; in most ways, but have failed in some regards since some races got nerfed while others are bordering on overpowered. Incidentally, blood elves having 2% miss chance against ALL magic schools does seem way out of line with other racials (especially us undeads... sigh, most utterly useless race for tanking). I could imagine blood elf becoming the default race for horde tank death knights, since they are supposed to be specialized for magic tanking and 2% miss on everything is fantastic for that. Bump, tauren racial not working as promised long time ago and NE miss chance is still too high. The NE racial will be especially useful for DKs who can reach over 70% avoidance in a raid setup (while being really squishy when they do actually get hit), but according to GC, 'DK dodge and parry were not much higher than warrior dodge and parry'. I would honestly like to see the math on that one. Rework those damn racials to %26quot;racial talents%26quot; already. There you go problem fixed and I do not give a damn about lorelol QQ. I'm happy with my ability to save my group when I get feared or charmed. May not be OP, but damn nice nonetheless. :) They changed it several patches ago so that mobs don't deaggro a feared target. In TBC you often want to stack shamans and shadowpriests, but even without that stacking, you would expect to have a couple of each in the average raid group, and almost always have at least one. Fear ward can be cast on any raid member; tremor totem only affects party members on live, but I assume it is raid-wide in WotLK like other totems. The only things I can think of is the trash before first boss in shadow labyrinth and before last boss in slave pens, but both are easy to deal with even without any fear-removing abilities. I have done all TBC 5-mans on normal and heroic, and rarely has will of the forsaken felt useful to any major extent. And even if it did, that still leaves it weak for raiding, which is a major part of this game whether you like it or not. I have done lots of heroics too, and while there are a few (very few) places where being undead helps, it really isn't much. Certainly didn't deserve to get nerfed because of it. And yeah I have experience from baron 45 and stuff like that too, so /yawn at experience-epeening. In soloing wotf is almost completely useless. Cannibalize, on the other hand, is very nice. I just want to achieve a reasonable balance between races in as many aspects of the game as possible; this thread demonstrates some of the imbalances that are cropping up in the tanking department, where undead are becoming one of the very worst races. As for the raid vs. non-raid thing, I dont see any evidence that raiding is such a rare thing. In fact I see lots of people running around with Karazhan gear and the like. But even if you are correct, that doesnt change that it is a major part of the game (where lore evolves, just check your TBC manual and see how raids were included in the game lore), and needs to be considered along with other aspects of the game (5-man PvE, battleground PvP, arena PvP, soloing etc.) when balancing classes and races.

No, it was supposed to be a higher value of base health to be around the same HP that the old racial would have been on a green geared character. This would mean around 8-10% of base health, it will always just scale with base health after that. This has still not been done after several weeks though and so far it is still only 5% of base health.
