THATS A 50 DKP MINUS!

SoE finally catches up to the rest of the world! They have finally implemented "Station Voice". Station Voice is a VOIP system for Sony Online Entertainment games. Currently the only games supporting this technology is Everquest 2, and Star Wars Galaxies. The technology uses Vivox. There are a number of neat features, but I'll take you through a quick rundown.

You can talk directly to a person in game. This is similar to a /tell, but with your voice! I do not know how or if you can support multiple sessions for private chats.

You can chat with your party, guild, or any other group in game.

You can manage groups or individual users. So a 13 year old Screaming Johnny can be muted by a moderator.

You can set individual settings. This means you can mute individual people without muting him through moderator controls. You can also increase/decrease volume of individuals. This is very handy, since one of the downsides to other in game VOIP services, is a lot of people come through very quiet, or screaming loud.

There is more information on the official page about how to operate it within a specific game. Just a reminder; Vanguard, Everquest 1 and Planetside do not yet support Vivox. However, there is news that they are planning to include this sweet new feature eventually.
