The sale of the day is COPPER

40 Undead Warrior and her ores

I've been working on my Armorcrafting quests off and on, and getting a bit of experience as I cut my way to the iron and mithril mining nodes I need for the quests in question.

I finished the first Armorsmithing quest, making 4 Steel Breastplates and 4 Steel Helms, it took a few days to get all the iron ore for that (since iron ore is a rep turn-in commodity for Thorium Brotherhood, it's not economical to buy it from the AH without sacrificing one's first toon), but it's going to take me forever to get all the mithril for the Mithril Order quests out of Booty Bay.

I took a break from mining iron and mithril in the Badlands and in Tarren Mills and headed over to Durotar for a while, too - and picked up a whole bunch of copper ore. In a quick couple round trips around Sen'jin and all the way north up to Orgrimmar, I got 80 copper ore which I turned into bars and went into the Auction House with.

After looking at the current rates on the AH (paying very well!) I listed my 80 copper bars in 8 groups of 10 bars, with each buyout being 1g 78s. They sold within a couple hours.

Yes! Thank you all you folks who are raising your brand new Jewelcrafting toons! You've driven up the demand for copper bars, and thus the suppliers can charge more!

I ran around last night and gathered up 130 copper ore, turned them into bars, and listed them. About 75% of them have sold in the first 8 hours. If I get any returned to me, I'll hold on to them until after maintenance on Tuesday and re-list them as the week gets more towards the weekend. I'm confident they'll all sell for that 1g 70s setting. It's amazing what rich toons will pay to level up their alt toon's professions...

Stuff for jewelcrafting that will sell well in the Auction House

Rough Stone is also selling a lot better now that Jewelcrafting has come out, but from what I can see it's not used for Jewelcrafting. Here's a list of "what you need to level Jewelcraft to 300%26#8243; components. All of these things should sell remarkably well for the next while, while Jewelcrafting is still so new and novel:

180-240 Copper Bars

50-75 Malachite

100-140 Silver Bars

40-60 Shadowgems

100-140 Bronze Bars

75-90 Jade

90-120 Elemental Earth

120-180 Thorium Bars

30-45 Star Rubys

30-40 Large Opal

And back to the Warrior miner...

Egads, I need so many mithril ore... something like 80 in total? Or is it 120? Blarg.

I went over to Desolace to find better spawns of mithril than were appearing in Badlands (which is great for iron), but didn't really find much. I've logged myself out while there, so I can login during a less played time (ie: Monday morning) and see if the spawns are better with lesser competition.

Standard bank toon AH maintenance

I use the addon Auctioneer for various reasons, including helping me set the prices of the various things I put up for sale, myself. Most of the equipment I pick up, I'd have no idea how to price them for sale otherwise, especially if there's not another copy of it already listed by someone else at the exact time I'm looking to put up a listing.

I have a bank toon who lives in Undercity and who runs back and forth between the mailbox and the Auctioneers, doing a bunch of things so my other toons don't have to. All my toons mail sellable things to this Bank toon and the bank toon lists them on the AH, and my Bank toon often buys equipment upgrades or professions materials for mailing back. Whenever a play toon needs cash, I hop over to my Bank toon and send across some of the cash that's been accumulating from selling on the AH.

Life is so much easier with a Bank toon. If you don't have one set up, I highly recommend it.

And BottomScanner, that comes with the beta version of Auctioneer on their site, has proven to be quite helpful but in a different way than I originally expected. I toyed around with "playing the market", buying low priced items that are really worth more and reselling them but I found with the recent release of the Expansion pack, things which used to be worth lots and aren't now are flooding the market, and things which used to not be worth much aren't showing up in the historical data yet as being worth a lot more, so it was too much of a crap-shoot for me.

But... I did find that I am more quickly able to capitalize on low-priced professions items that I wouldn't have thought to search on every time I was at the AH, but which are usable by one of my toons. So, if nothing else it's demonstrated its usefulness that way.

And for now, that's all to write!

PS: Hiya Rizzo! :)
