I'd been despondent about the new Shattered Sun Offensive reputation gear. I'm a Scryer and the Scryer procs are generally crummy. But I'd overlooked the Shattered Sun Pendant of Might. The core stats are great for a cat: +18 agi, +19 sta, +64 attack power. And then as gravy, the Scryers get a proc for an extra arcane strike for ~350 damage about every 45 seconds. Doesn't sound like much, but that's basically an extra melee attack. If you believe Toskk's estimate it's the second best necklace available for cat DPS. For details, check out this WWS report on le frappe des arcanes. The Aldor version (200 attack power proc) is good too, particularly if you can time your Rip to the proc. Looks like I finally have an upgrade for Haramad's Bargain.
For bears, the Shattered Sun Pendant of Resolve is also interesting. The stats basically make it a toned down version of the Brooch of Deftness, one of my favourite tank pieces. And the Aldor proc is amazing, an extra 5% dodge for 10 seconds every 45. Sadly, the Scryer proc is +100 expertise. And while I like expertise I don't like it that much; I prefer the predictable extra +hit and +expertise from the badge necklace. But Aldor bears should take a good long look at this necklace; if you don't need defense on your neck, it's a very interesting option.
