A feral druid's offtank guide to Naxxramas/10

Hooray, we completed Naxxramas/10! Got it finished in my second week raiding with 2 three hour raids. It%26#39;s a fun dungeon and I%26#39;m looking forward to going through it a bunch to gear up myself and our guild. I also like the way the fights are training for Naxx/25. The only thing I don%26#39;t like is the trash. It%26#39;s completely mindless, just AoE tank and kill (except Dark Touched Warriors; they need to be stunned or pulled aside). I sure hope we see something more like the Zul%26#39;aman, SSC, or Tempest Keep trash in coming raids.

This week I was the off-tank with our ridiculously well-geared prot warrior as main tank. I really enjoy the off-tank role, a nice mix of dps and tanking, sometimes in the same fight. Here%26#39;s some notes on a feral off-tank%26#39;s role in the boss fights in Naxx/10.

Arachnid Quarter

Anub%26#39;Rekhan: dps and add tanking, tank gear. Cat dps the boss until the Locust Swarm, then go pick up the add and bear tank it until it%26#39;s killed, then back to cat dps. Be ready to pick up the boss, the main tank seems to die a lot.

Grand Widow Faerlina: add tanking, tank gear. Body pull to start the fight and get all four worshipper adds on you (MT will pick the boss off you). Try to round them up in one spot if possible. Whittle one add down to 20% health until it%26#39;s time to blow her up (you%26#39;ll need help), then have the MT drag the boss on top of your victim to pop it. Repeat. Do not kill adds early: stop attacking entirely if you have to. (This fight is quite different in Naxx/25).

Maexxna: full cat dps, dps gear. If your main tank dies and you find yourself MT, be sure to use Barkskin, Feral Instinct, just before Web Wrap to keep yourself alive.

Plague Quarter

Noth the Plaguebringer: add tanking, tank gear. Cat dps in quiet moments, pick up adds when they spawn. Plagued Warriors cleave, so face them away. Plagued Guardians arcane explode, so drag them away and/or kill them fast.

Heigan the Unclean: full cat dps, dps gear. This entire fight is about doing the dance right. nothing else matters. If you can%26#39;t get behind Heigan safely it%26#39;s OK to dps from the front.

Loatheb: full cat dps, dps gear. Just follow along with the rest of the melee dps for getting spore buffs.

Military Quarter

Instructor Razuvious: mind controlling and some add tanking, tank gear. Start the fight by taking one of the two orbs and mind controlling an understudy. Alternate understudy-tanking the boss with your other tank. When it%26#39;s your turn pop Bone Barrier, then Taunt, then spam attacks. After 15 seconds (when Bone Barrier is halfway to being ready again) have your other tank pick it up. Every second time you%26#39;re done understudy-tanking, release the mind control (via right-click on pet frame: dismiss) and then immediately spam click the orb to reacquire it. When the boss goes down run your understudy far away, then drop the pet and pick it up in bear form and kill it. (On Naxx/25 it%26#39;s totally different.)

Gothik the Harvester: main tanking, tank gear. Pick up adds as they spawn. It%26#39;s easier for bears on the live side, just have everyone stand by the gate and pick them up as they run to you. When the add waves are down be ready to tank Gothik on your side.

Four Horsemen: main tanking, tank gear. Time for fun! Work out the boss-swapping with your fellow melee tank: I find it helps a lot to taunt about 15 yards from the boss as you swap, then have a Maul and Mangle ready for the new target. Once both melee targets are down help out by going to the two back ones and tanking them. You have more health than anyone, even in cat form. Swap whenever you get 3 marks.

Construct Quarter

Patchwerk: hateful strike soaking, tank gear. Get in melee range right with the main tank, then enjoy your 5000-9000 point hits every second. Bear armor + stamina is great at this. Hateful Strike is dodgeable and be quick on the Surival Instincts if you%26#39;re about to die. You%26#39;ll need more healing than the main tank.

Grobbulus: dps and add tanking, tank gear to be safe. Go full out cat dps until he sprays a slime, then pick up the spawned slime. In Naxx/10 bear dps is enough to kill one slime before the next spawns, but it%26#39;s safer to have ranged dps help you. If more than two slimes are up you%26#39;re in trouble. If you get the Mutating Injection debuff you have to move like everyone else, so be aware.

Gluth: main tanking and dps, tank gear. Tank the boss along with your other tank in the back of the room. Taunt off each other as soon as the Mortal Wound debuff wears off, a stack of 2 or 3 is OK. Time it so a clean tank taunts just before a Decimate. If you%26#39;re tanking during Decimate use Barkskin, dodge trinkets, etc. Frenzied Regen is awesome. When you%26#39;re not the tank switch to cat and dps.

Thaddius: add tanking and dps, tank gear to be safe. Tank Feugen or Stalagg on their platform. Be sure to say %26quot;whee!%26quot; everytime you%26#39;re tossed to the other side. No aggro wipe on the toss so it%26#39;s pretty easy to hold the mob. Be careful with your bear dps if whatever you%26#39;re currently tanking is too low. Once they%26#39;re down Dash and jump the gap, then switch to all out cat dps for the boss and watch the polarity shifts.

Frostywrm Lair

Sapphiron: full cat dps, dps gear. Melee from the side along with everyone else, take advantage of his enormous hit box to stay out of Chill. Never ever cross to the wrong side of the boss. In phase 2 help out with healing. Long fight, a healer will need Innervate.

Kel%26#39;Thuzad: add tanking and dps, tank gear. Phase 1 you%26#39;re tanking abominations, it%26#39;s easy. Have your other tank take an abom if you get too many Mortal Wounds, but you can just stun them to avoid it. Phase 2 you%26#39;re cat DPS, be sure to stand at max range to avoid chaining damage. Innervate a healer then, too. Phase 3 you pick up the two Guardians and drag them away. They spawn randomly, it%26#39;s a tricky pickup. No point DPSing the guardians, so once you have enough aggro just stop attacking to avoid parries. Save your cooldowns for later in the fight as Blood Tap stacks higher.
