Enhancement Wotlk Shaman (besides suffering terribly right now in PVP after the changes) are going to have some issues with most theorycrafting in the future. I typically go to the Elitist Jerks forum and read the Enhancement Shaman Wotlk Bible every once in a while to touch up on my own number crunching but with all the new dynamics being swapped around in Wrath of the lich king(Wotlk).it’s going to be a very different game as far as itemization. Most enhance Shaman Wotlk are going to be gunning like mad for hit raitng, AGI, and crit more than anything else in a raid environment and staying away from anything with strength on it. The problem being that a lot of the new abilities enhance Wotlk Shaman were given lend to using windfury on the main hand and flametongue on the off hand with a good bit of MP5 and INT on their gear to sustain DPS; since now their attacks are pretty much 50/50 melee physical damage and spell damage which is good thing. I’ll leave the rest for another Spoon’s Eye View but for now here is word from the official Beta forums. We view Enhancement as a melee class(WOW Classes Guides provide many) that should be wearing melee gear. However, one of the interesting things about the Wotlk Shamanis throwing out some spells with that melee too. Our view of things is that some smart theorycrafters started wondering if using two fast caster weapons with two flametongue enchants would end up being the right way to go. The way the discussion sort of ended up was “maybe, but it might be close” but a lot of the community took that as a mandate. Or maybe they were just shocked by the supposition because it felt wrong for a melee class. We know it’s wrong, so we’re doing some tweaks to make it even less likely to be the most optimal set up. If you are saving up badges or arena points or whatever for your enhancement Wotlk Shaman, I would definitely NOT go out and get two fast caster weapons. |
